The prestigious international Cosmos 'COSMetic Organic and Natural Standard' certification serves to assure consumers that they are getting an ecologically safe product that is safe for humans and animals with sustainably sourced natural and organic ingredients. It is a badge of trust that indicates that the product does not contain 1328 potentially unsafe ingredients banned by the European Union.
To obtain this certification a product has to comply with strict testing criteria and tightly regulated standards. This includes ensuring ingredients are sourced from natural methods or organic farming and that no synthetic chemicals were used to farm those ingredients.
When you buy a product that is certified as COSMOS Natural, you get transparent information on the % composition of natural and organic ingredients as displayed on the ingredients list.
Why did we choose to get COSMOS certified?
The US FDA bans only 11 cosmetic ingredients while the EU bans 1328. As a brand, we chose to hold ourselves to a higher standard of safety on behalf of our customers. We got our products COSMOS certified to break away from buzz words like clean beauty, green beauty, toxin free, chemical free, minimalistic, natural or botanical which are open to interpretation and only serve to confuse or mislead the consumer.
